The value of worksite wellness programs has traditionally been measured by the ROI (return-

on-investment) they deliver. You do want to learn about other ways to deliver value, right?

In many ways value, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder. Essentially, this means

that when considering value, you need to consider the various stakeholders and the target

audience. For worksite wellness programs, this means both the employer (who generally pays

for the program) and employees (who are generally the target audience for the program). Each

will determine their own value of the Health And Wellness Tips Of The Day.

Employee View of Value

Your employees will likely view value in one or more of three different ways. If your

program offers high value incentives for participation, one view may be the value of the

incentive and what is required of the employee in order to receive the incentive. In other

words, is the incentive being offered worth the effort?

Another view of employee value may be that the program offers employees the opportunity to

do something they are already doing in a more convenient, easier or less costly manner. A

couple of good examples here would be an on-site fitness facility, on-site or nearby walking

trails or a discounted /reimbursed membership to a community gym or fitness facility.

A third view of value would be that the program helps the employee solve a problem they are

experiencing. While every employee probably has a problem or pain point they are trying to

address. For many, their problem or pain point may not be health related. This is probably

especially true for your employee population with no or low (1 - 2) health risks
